This test bed measures the power output of internal combustion engines both single and multi-cylinder engines delivering up to 7.5kW. The complete engine test bed consists of two main elements: The control and test bed unit with a choice of engine from single and multi-cylinder both with petrol and diesel fuel system. Test bed comes with simple coupling and interchangeability for Multi-cylinder and single cylinder engines. The main function is to provide the required braking power. The brake unit is a water-cooled Eddy current dynamometer. The torque is measured by means of a suspended brake unit and force sensor. The engine is mounted on a vibration-insulated base plate and connected to the Eddy current dynamometer. The mass of the base plate in conjunction with the soft bearing support ensures that the test stand runs very smoothly. The lower section of the mobile frame contains fuel tanks and a stabilization tank for the intake air. The air consumption is measured by way of a Laminar Air Flow Meter. The fuel consumption is measured by way of the level in a vertical fuel tank. The switch cabinet contains digital displays for the speed, torque and temperatures. Pressure gauges indicate negative intake pressure and air consumption etc. purposely designed to study engine performance and energy balance measurement.
